Although much of the world may find it hard to believe, summer has arrived in southern California. Today I went to drink a few margaritas with my unbelievably hip grandmother in celebration of her 81st birthday. As we sat basking in the sunshine and sipping our cocktails, she shared stories of her youth and wondered in amazement why the hell girls these days wear such "skanky" swimsuits. Summerwear has certainly changed in the past several decades (although the nudists have seemed to remain true), but as a lover of vintage, I don't think the clothing above will ever go out of style.
