Audrey



Oh, to be like Audrey Hepburn. Shortly after Audrey became my role model as a little girl, I discovered why she actually was worthy of being looked up to. Yes, she had a successful, elegant career and portrayed herself as an independent woman who was not afraid to love wholeheartedly and be positive about life, but she also overcame great struggles as a child and sported a gigantic heart throughout all of her days. During World War II, she was a young girl in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands and delivered messages to assist others around her who were also suffering. She went days living in fear and without food, and as a result suffered malnutrition and depression. Later in life, years after her career had taken off and she'd made a name for herself, beautiful Audrey started working with UNICEF to help children struggling to survive in Latin America and Africa. UNICEF became one of her major purposes until the end of her life in 1993.
